Air and Space Power Centre

Strategic card game

THE CHALLENGE

ASPC had recently released a new staff manual about the mission, values, and work they do, however engagement with it was limited. They were seeking to create a more innovatice way to engage staff with this information, and to facilitate conversation on the future of air and space power.

THE RESULT

The game delivered an engaging, innovative, accessible and effective way to engage staff in strategic discussions.

  • 4,000 units printed (card game and board game version)

  • QR codes on the cards link to additional material

  • Used in corporate training

  • Used on mission and every day work

  • Launched in September 2021 by the Chief of Air Force Air Marshal Mel Hupfeld

THE APPROACH

Taking their existing  game concept, I supported the ASPC to conduct user research and testing, game design, and game production. I took a user-centred design approach to understand user context and how the game would be used in training and field travel. I facilitated workshops with Air Force personnel to iterate designs before delivering a finalised concept and blueprint report. I then managed the production of the game.
